Performing Arts

Our performing arts services provide support to Utah performing artists and presenting organizations (presenters) in their efforts to enhance artistic/professional development and increase community involvement and accessibility.

Funding Opportunities

TourWest, WESTAF

TourWest is a competitive grant program that provides subsidies to arts and community organizations for the presentation of out-of-state touring performers and literary artists. All projects must have one public performance and one educational outreach activity. TourWest standard performance grants are available in an amount of up to $2,500 or 50% of the artistic fees, whichever is less. Applicants may apply for up to two standard performance grants. The annual TourWest grant application opens annually in mid-January and closes on the first day of April.

OnStage in Utah

We recognize the important role of presenters in linking performing artists with Utah audiences.  The OnStage in Utah funding opportunity is available to Utah presenters to support public performances and outreach of in-state or out-of-state performing artists.

Arts Northwest Opportunity for Performing Artists

The annual Arts Northwest booking conference is one of the largest gatherings of artists, their management, and presenters of the performing arts in the region.  The 2012 conference will be held in Boise, ID on October 15-18, 2012.  Funding is available for Utah performing artists to attend this event.  Guidelines and application are below.

Workshops and Seminars

Workshops and seminars are created to connect presenters and performing artists in an atmosphere designed to promote networking.  These seminars provide creative and professional development assistance and means of professional sustainability.

Performing Artist Profiles

Performing artists are an integral part of arts activities throughout the state.  Through dance, music, theatre, storytelling and other live performances, performing artists enhance our communities and open new vistas of understanding and appreciation.
