Our DesignArts competition proudly continues the annual salute and celebration of Utah’s designers with the annual exhibition DesignArts Utah.
The annual Original Writing Competition has won national respect because of the reputation of its judges and the honors received by its winners. For more than fifty years, this competition has honored some of Utah’s finest writers, with public recognition, career assistance, and cash prizes.
Recitation and performance are major new trends in poetry. The National Endowment for the Arts and the Poetry Foundation have partnered with Utah Arts & Museums’ Literature Program support the expansion of Poetry Out Loud, which encourages the Utah’s youth to learn about great poetry through memorization and performance.

Visual arts competitions and exhibitions have been a project of the state since 1899, providing juried exhibitions open to all Utah artists and a forum from which the Permanent Collection Committee can make acquisition recommendations.
Fellowships are available for individual artists practicing crafts, painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, sculpture, artist's bookmaking, and working in new genres, conceptual arts and video. Fellowship grants do not require matching funds.
