Hey, It’s Peter Hay!

We want to welcome our new Visual Arts Coordinator, Peter Hay. Peter has called Salt Lake City home for the past three years. His background is as a cultural programmer, educator, and artist. He grew up for the most part in Oklahoma and received an associate of arts degree from Northern Oklahoma College, a bachelor of arts degree from Northeastern State University, and a master of fine arts degree from Louisiana Tech University. Peter is co-founder of PROArtes México and was most recently a grant consultant with ASU Art Museum in Tempe, Arizona. Previously, Peter was the gallery manager of Modern West in Salt Lake City, exhibits director of Durango Arts Center, art instructor with Pueblo Community College, artist/owner of Studio & Gallery in Durango, Colorado, and director of development and public relations for Living Arts of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Here’s Peter talking about his interests: “Like the arts, food is a way to know a culture and place. For me, the joy of travel is as much about art as it is about food. There is a tremendous amount of knowledge held in both, and both are keys to keeping the multitudes of our world’s cosmovisions alive.”

We’re delighted to have him on board!
