PBS KIDS Utah Writers & Illustrators Contest Celebrates 20 Years of Fostering Creativity in Young Kids

This year, PBS Utah is proud to celebrate the 20th anniversary of its Writers & Illustrators Contest. This year’s theme is Celebrate the Great Outdoors. The contest is an initiative that fosters imagination and creativity in young artists and writers. Every year, PBS KIDS Utah invites children throughout the state to participate.

Children grades K-6 submitted stories all about the great outdoors. The creative writing and illustration contest saw entries of all kinds including fact, fiction, poetry, Claymation, oil pastel illustrations, and even photography, all on the theme of Celebrate the Great Outdoors. Winning stories and illustrations will be included in the traveling exhibit. Full stories and illustrations can be found at www.pbsutah.org/writers.

PBS KIDS Utah plays a vital role in supporting children in Utah. Even during these challenging times, PBS Utah continues to provide opportunities to keep kids engaged and learning. Programs such as the Writers and Illustrators Contest and the Reading Marathon are valuable because they promote literacy skills and active, hands-on learning. Learn more at www.pbsutah.org/kids.
